Legal, Policies and Terms
1. Sales and customer terms
These documents govern orders for equipment and explain how customer status is established. The website primarily serves businesses. A genuine individual buying wholly or mainly outside a trade, including an expressly offered home-miner product or a qualifying marketplace order, receives all mandatory Consumer rights. Actual purpose and the facts of the transaction control; an invoice, tag or sales channel cannot remove a right given by law.
Core order documents
- Terms and Conditions: the principal contractual terms for direct equipment sales, with separate treatment for B2B orders and mandatory Consumer exceptions.
- Consumer and Marketplace Sales Policy: explains direct B2B sales, home-miner Consumer sales and orders placed through Google Merchant, eBay or Amazon.
- Payments Policy: sets out permitted bank transfer, Stripe card, USDT, USDC and BTC routes, payment limits, valuation, fraud checks and refund handling. Cash is never accepted.
- Delivery and Shipping Policy: covers dispatch, tracking, DAP and agreed DDP deliveries, import charges, delivery evidence, transit claims and the different B2B and Consumer risk rules.
Cancellation, returns and after-sales support
- Refund and Returns Policy: explains Consumer cancellation rights, B2B discretionary returns, faulty or misdescribed goods, exclusions and return authorisation.
- Model Cancellation Form: an optional standard form that an eligible Consumer may use to cancel a distance contract. Using the form is not the only way to cancel.
- Warranty Policy: records the commercial cover for new website equipment and any separately listed used or refurbished eBay goods. Statutory Consumer remedies remain additional.
- Complaints Procedure: gives the routes, evidence requirements, response stages and escalation information for a complaint.
2. Hosting, repairs and equipment services
These documents apply where the company supplies hosting, consultancy, repairs, product support or environmental services. The signed agreement, Order Confirmation or service schedule identifies the exact service, location, price, allocation of responsibility and any approved subcontractor.
Hosting, consultancy and repairs
- Hosting Terms and Conditions: the general contract for hosted mining equipment, including power, uptime, maintenance, access, fees, suspension, relocation and termination.
- Hosting Service Agreement and Order Schedule: the transaction-specific template used to record the facility, machines, capacity, price and special terms. It takes priority where the agreement expressly varies the general hosting terms.
- Bitcoin Mining Consultancy Services Terms: governs scoped advisory and technical work and distinguishes consultancy from regulated financial, legal or tax advice.
- Repairs Terms and Conditions: covers diagnosis, estimates, parts, data and credentials, abandoned equipment, testing, collection and liability for repair work.
- Repair Booking and RMA Authorisation: the operational booking and authorisation route that must be completed before repair goods are sent.
Safety, conformity and end of life
- Electrical Safety, Product Compliance and Recall Notice: explains installation responsibilities, model-level conformity evidence, traceability, incident reporting and recall action.
- ASIC Miner Noise and Hearing Safety: practical information for assessing noise exposure, ventilation, hearing protection and suitable siting.
- ASIC Miner Recycling and WEEE Take-back: the customer-facing route for authorised like-for-like household WEEE take-back and secure equipment handling.
- Environmental, WEEE and Product Stewardship Policy: the company framework for producer registration, records, take-back, transfers, packaging and evidence-based environmental claims.
3. Privacy, cookies and accessibility
These notices explain how the website may be used, how personal information and cookies are handled, and how to report accessibility or security concerns. Privacy information should also be shown at the point where personal data is collected.
Privacy and access
- Privacy Policy: the public UK GDPR notice describing the company, data categories, purposes, lawful bases, recipients, international transfers, retention and individual rights.
- Data Protection and UK GDPR Governance Policy: the internal governance framework for accountability, records, security, data subject requests, breaches and supplier oversight.
- Cookie Policy: identifies cookie categories, consent choices, analytics and advertising technologies, retention and browser controls.
- Accessibility Statement: records the accessibility approach, known limitations, contact route and escalation options.
Website and security rules
- Website Terms of Use: governs access to and reliance on the public website, intellectual property, links and availability.
- Acceptable Use Policy: prohibits unlawful, abusive, disruptive or security-threatening use of the website, systems and services.
- Security Vulnerability Disclosure Policy: gives security researchers a safe reporting route and explains testing that is not authorised.
- Information Security and Service Resilience: summarises security controls, incident management, backups, continuity planning and supplier dependencies without promising uninterrupted service.
4. Trust, verification and security
Use these pages to verify the company, understand the limits of its activities and assess risks that are specific to mining hardware, crypto payments and cross-border services. They are factual statements and risk information unless a contract expressly incorporates them.
Identity and regulatory position
- Verify The Mining Shop: lists the official company identity, contact routes, payment checks and warning signs intended to help customers avoid impersonation and invoice fraud.
- Impressum and Legal Notice: provides the corporate and publication details for the website.
- Customer Verification, AML and Sanctions Statement: explains the company’s risk-based identity, source-of-funds, payment-provider and sanctions controls. It does not claim that the company is a regulated cryptoasset business.
- Regulatory Status and Cryptoasset Services Statement: states what the company does and does not provide, including the absence of investment, custody, exchange or regulated financial advice services.
Mining and cross-border risk
- Mining Pools, Cross-Border Hashpower and Export Controls: outlines pool choice, facility and counterparty checks, sanctions, export controls, territorial restrictions and customer responsibilities.
- Mining Earnings and Risk Disclaimer: explains volatility, difficulty, energy, downtime, pool, regulatory and obsolescence risks. No earnings, payback period or profitability is guaranteed.
5. Using this website
These documents record the company’s governance expectations and provide optional agreement templates. A policy may guide staff and suppliers without forming part of every customer contract. An agreement template becomes binding only when properly completed and executed by the relevant parties.
Responsible business and people
- Anti-Bribery, Corruption and Conflicts Policy: sets standards for gifts, hospitality, facilitation payments, conflicts, due diligence, records and reporting.
- Modern Slavery and Ethical Supply Chain Policy: describes risk assessment, supplier expectations, escalation and proportionate due diligence.
- Responsible Business and Compliance Readiness: brings together the company’s practical governance, evidence, review and continuous-improvement commitments.
- Responsible Tax and Prevention of Tax Evasion Policy: states the approach to tax records, advice, risk and the prevention of criminal facilitation of tax evasion.
- Whistleblowing and Speak-Up Policy: gives workers and relevant third parties confidential routes for reporting serious wrongdoing and prohibits retaliation.
- Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Anti-Harassment Policy: sets conduct, fair-treatment, reporting and response expectations.
- Health, Safety and Fire Policy: records responsibilities for risk assessment, competent work, incidents, emergency arrangements and review.
Confidentiality agreements
- Mutual Non-Disclosure Agreement: an optional two-way template for defined confidential discussions. Website contact does not automatically create an NDA.
- Confidentiality and Non-Circumvention Agreement: an optional template for transactions involving introductions, protected information and agreed non-circumvention obligations.
Tax guidance
- UK Crypto Mining Tax and HMRC Guide: general information on fact-dependent UK tax treatment and record keeping, with links to primary HMRC material.
- ASIC Mining Equipment Tax, VAT and Capital Allowances: general information for businesses considering expenditure, VAT and capital-allowance treatment.
The tax pages are educational only. They are not personal tax, accounting, legal or investment advice, and readers should obtain advice based on their own circumstances.
6. Geographic scope
Contractual status
The Terms and Conditions, an executed service agreement, an Order Confirmation and any expressly incorporated schedule or policy may form the contract. A page described as a statement, notice, guide or internal policy is informational unless the contract clearly incorporates it. Publishing a document in this register does not by itself make every document part of every transaction.
Order of precedence
Mandatory law comes first and cannot be excluded. Subject to that law, a signed agreement or expressly agreed Order Confirmation takes priority over a service or product schedule, which takes priority over the general Terms and Conditions and any incorporated policy. A marketplace’s mandatory customer terms and protections also apply to an order completed on that marketplace.
Customer status and territory
Customer status is determined by actual purpose and the surrounding facts. Direct industrial, hosting, repair, consultancy and infrastructure purchases are normally B2B. A genuine individual acting wholly or mainly outside a trade is a Consumer and keeps all mandatory rights. UK terms do not displace mandatory local law, and an overseas supplier, facility or service partner is not represented as owned or operated by the company unless the contract expressly says so.
Complete public register
This page is the canonical policy index. A shorter footer may highlight the documents most often needed during a customer journey, but it must contain a clear link back to this complete register. Product pages, checkout, invoices and marketplace listings should use the same condition, payment, delivery, returns and warranty information.
7. Updates and contact
Each document states its review date and version. The company reviews the pack after a material change in law, business practice, payment method, platform requirement, supplier arrangement or service model, and otherwise on the review cycle stated in the relevant document. A new version applies prospectively unless the document or applicable law says otherwise; the terms accepted for an existing order remain available through the order record.
Questions about which document applies may be sent through the Contact Us page or to [email protected]. Privacy requests should use the route in the Privacy Policy, security reports should use the Vulnerability Disclosure Policy, and complaints should follow the Complaints Procedure so that they reach the correct team.
No website policy pack can replace advice on a specific dispute or regulated question. The company should obtain independent UK legal, tax, data protection, product safety or other professional advice where the facts require it.
