Payments Policy
1. Accepted Payment Methods
1.1 We accept bank transfer to our UK business account, and cryptocurrency in the stablecoins USDT and USDC on ERC 20 or TRC 20, or another network only where your invoice states it.
1.2 Card payments under £1,500 excluding VAT. For order totals under £1,500 excluding VAT we also accept debit and credit cards, processed by Stripe. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and full card numbers never touch or persist on our systems. Card payment is deliberately unavailable at £1,500 excluding VAT and above: high value hardware carries chargeback and fraud exposure that card rails do not suit, so larger orders use bank transfer or stablecoins with a verifiable audit trail. We may also exclude individual items below that threshold from card payment at our discretion; checkout always shows the methods available for your order.
1.3 We do not accept cash payments or money services at our office, or third party escrow we have not agreed in writing. Purchases made through our eBay or Amazon listings are paid through those marketplaces under their own terms.
1.3 Every order is paid upfront in full. Allocation, testing and dispatch begin only after cleared funds and completion of any compliance checks.
2. Payment Window and Clearance
2.1 Payment is due within one business day of checkout or invoice, measured Monday to Friday UK time excluding bank holidays. If you need more time, contact us before the window closes. Orders may be cancelled and stock reallocated if payment is not received in time.
2.2 Typical clearance. UK bank transfers: 1 to 3 business days. International wires: 2 to 5 business days, longer where correspondent banks are involved. USDT or USDC: same day once the confirmations shown on your invoice are reached, typically 12 to 35 on ERC 20 and 20 to 30 on TRC 20, and settlement is visible in our business wallet.
2.3 Queue position and dispatch order are tied to the moment cleared funds are confirmed, not checkout time. Payments arriving outside UK business hours are processed the next business day. After clearance, typical processing is 1 to 3 business days before dispatch.
2.4 Late payment. Where an extension is agreed, or for hosting renewals, we may charge statutory interest and fixed recovery costs under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
3. Paying by Bank Transfer
- Bank details appear only on your official pro forma or invoice from an @theminingshop.co.uk address. Reference your Order ID exactly as shown.
- Payments must arrive in full, net of bank and FX fees; for international wires use the IBAN and SWIFT on the invoice with charge code OUR recommended. Underpayments delay allocation until topped up.
- We accept payment only from the business account of the invoiced customer. Third party or personal account payments may be returned minus banking costs and the order cancelled.
- If a transfer is recalled or returned by the banking system, we credit your order only once funds arrive back in our account; intermediary fees are borne by the sender.
4. Paying in USDT or USDC
- Send only to the unique wallet address printed on your current invoice; never reuse an address from a previous order.
- The sender pays network gas and exchange withdrawal fees; add a buffer so the amount landing covers the full GBP total. Invoices are priced in GBP and the GBP total must be met net of fees at settlement.
- We mark an invoice paid once the required confirmations complete and funds settle in our wallet; exchange internal confirmations do not count, and batched exchange withdrawals can add time.
- If you send too little, top up to the same address; if you send too much, the excess is credited to your account or hosting invoice. We do not issue cash refunds for overages.
- Crypto transactions are irreversible. Sending to a wrong address or on the wrong network can result in loss of funds and we cannot accept liability for those errors. Check the address, the network and the amount before sending.
5. Price Movement, Credits and Errors
5.1 Machine prices track market earnings and supplier quotes. If a price increases before your funds clear, we issue a new invoice for the positive difference and allocation pauses until it is paid. If the price decreases before funds clear, we issue a credit note for the difference, usable against products, hosting and services. Credit notes are not redeemable for cash.
5.2 Payment related disputes must be raised in writing within 7 days of the transaction; our accounts team reviews and provides a written resolution. Accounts support is available Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 UK time on 01429 408034 or [email protected].
6. Deposits and Price Holds
For established clients we may fix miner prices for a limited period on larger orders:
- Eligibility: existing customers with at least one completed order and either order history of £50,000 or more, or 20 or more miners purchased.
- Minimum order: 10 units or more.
- Deposit: 50 percent of the order value secures the price hold.
- Duration: up to 10 days, extendable to 30 days by agreement for pre orders or future stock.
- Non refundable: deposits are strictly non refundable, and non payment of the balance within the agreed hold period forfeits the deposit and the allocation.
7. Compliance, Verification and Client Fit
7.1 We are a UK registered business and comply with applicable Know Your Customer and anti money laundering obligations. Orders over £15,000, single or cumulative, may require enhanced due diligence before allocation, typically adding 1 to 3 business days. We may request company registration details, proof of business address, photo ID of directors or authorised signatories, and source of funds confirmation; documents are handled securely as described in our Privacy Policy.
7.2 Orders may be subject to sanctions screening and Politically Exposed Person checks, and corporate customers may be asked for beneficial ownership documentation. Checks are mandatory where triggered and orders cannot proceed until verification completes.
7.3 Client fit. Mining requires planning and realistic expectations. We prefer to speak with every new client before payment, may cancel website orders placed without prior discussion, and reserve the right to decline orders where we believe the purchase is not a good fit for long term success or where payment cannot be verified.
8. Payment Security
We never change bank details or wallet addresses by email. If you receive different bank details or a new wallet address mid conversation, stop and call 01429 408034 to verify before sending anything. Verify our company independently: The Mining Shop UK Limited, company number 14666497 on Companies House, correspondence address Enterprise House, 202 to 206 Linthorpe Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3QW, office at 38 Church Street, Hartlepool, TS24 7DG.
Title to goods remains with The Mining Shop UK Limited until receipt of cleared funds in full. VAT is added at checkout or on invoice where applicable; hosting invoices are billed separately, usually monthly in advance, and hardware and hosting are separate agreements invoiced independently.
Common Questions
Can I pay by card?
Yes, for order totals under £1,500 excluding VAT, by debit or credit card through Stripe. At £1,500 excluding VAT and above card payment is unavailable, because card rails carry fraud and chargeback exposure that does not fit high value hardware; larger orders use bank transfer or stablecoins with a verifiable audit trail. Some items below the threshold may also be excluded from card payment at our discretion, and checkout shows the methods available for your order.
How long do I have to pay?
One business day from checkout or invoice. Ask before the window closes if you need longer.
When is my order locked in?
When your funds clear, which also sets your dispatch queue position. We confirm by email when payment is applied.
What happens if the price moves while my transfer clears?
An increase produces a difference invoice before allocation continues; a decrease produces a credit note usable against our products and services.
Are deposits refundable?
No. Deposits, including price hold deposits, are strictly non refundable.
Why are you asking for ID documents?
Enhanced due diligence applies to orders over £15,000, single or cumulative, as part of UK compliance obligations. Verification typically adds 1 to 3 business days.
