Environmental, WEEE and Product Stewardship Policy

We aim to prevent pollution, use resources responsibly and meet applicable environmental and producer-responsibility duties. Material aspects include equipment energy use, heat and noise, packaging, freight, cooling fluids, electronic components, repair parts, batteries and end-of-life equipment.

We prioritise safe continued use, maintenance, repair, refurbishment, parts recovery and reuse where these provide a lawful and environmentally sound route. Recycling is used when continued use is unsuitable. Waste must not be abandoned, misdescribed or transferred through an unverified route.

Objectives and evidence are reviewed proportionately. This policy does not claim ISO 14001 certification, carbon neutrality or independent environmental assurance.

Current producer registration. The Mining Shop UK Limited is registered for the 2026 compliance year under WEEE producer registration number WEE/MM2824AA. The small-producer submission records 3.000 tonnes of household/dual-use EEE: category 1, 0.100 t; category 2, 0.200 t; category 3, 2.500 t; category 4, 0.200 t. Registration is not the same as membership of a producer compliance scheme, and we do not claim scheme membership.

We provide free like-for-like household WEEE take-back by prior authorisation at 38 Church Street, Hartlepool, TS24 7DG. Accepted items are stored intact, secure, dry and separate and transferred through an authorised carrier and AATF route. We retain required records for at least four years.

Our proposed EMR Hartlepool route remains subject to written acceptance and verification; no contractor or scheme membership is represented as confirmed until evidence is held.

We seek proportionate reduction, reuse and responsible recovery of packaging and equipment. Supplier and product claims such as recycled content, energy performance, CE, UKCA, RoHS or authorised treatment are published only where evidence appropriate to the exact model and role is held.

We maintain a model-level product conformity register covering manufacturer, importer or distributor role, markings, declarations, instructions, serial/batch traceability and corrective-action status. Until verified, no blanket conformity claim is made.

Relevant teams must maintain proportionate equipment, packaging, waste, contractor and transfer records. Product conformity, safety incidents, recalls and corrective action are governed with the Electrical Safety, Product Compliance and Recall Notice.

Environmental incidents, suspected illegal disposal, spills, inaccurate claims and control failures must be reported promptly. We assess containment, notification, clean-up, evidence preservation and corrective action according to the event and applicable law.

Performance indicators may include repair and reuse outcomes, waste routes, packaging data completeness, supplier evidence, environmental incidents and overdue actions. Public claims and this policy are reviewed when services, suppliers, legislation or evidence change.
