Electrical Safety, Product Compliance and Recall Notice
1. Customer Installation and Premises
ASIC miners are high-power, continuous-load electrical equipment that can generate substantial heat and noise. Before energising equipment at premises controlled by the customer, the customer must obtain an assessment by a competent, suitably qualified electrician and ensure that the installation, distribution system and premises comply with applicable law, the current edition of BS 7671 where relevant, the manufacturer's instructions and the equipment rating plate.
The customer is responsible for confirming supply voltage, frequency and phase; available capacity; earthing and bonding; circuit protection and isolation; cable, plug, connector, breaker and PDU ratings; load distribution and phase balance; and any permission required from a landlord, insurer, network operator or authority. Equipment must not be connected through an underrated adapter, cable, socket, extension lead or PDU, and extension leads must not be daisy-chained.
Technical figures on product pages support planning but are not a site design, electrical certificate or substitute for a competent inspection. Product-specific instructions and the electrician's verified design control where they impose a higher requirement.
2. Safe Operation, Environment and Fire Precautions
The customer must operate equipment only within the manufacturer's electrical, temperature, humidity, altitude, coolant and airflow limits. Intakes, exhausts and service clearances must remain unobstructed. The installation must prevent hot-air recirculation, condensation, water ingress, conductive dust, combustible accumulation and unauthorised access.
- Use suitable over-current, residual-current and surge protection where required by the verified design.
- Provide accessible emergency isolation and identify the circuits supplying the equipment.
- Use suitable non-combustible mounting, heat or smoke detection and fire precautions identified by the premises risk assessment.
- Inspect cables, connectors, terminals, PDUs, cooling systems and protective devices at risk-based intervals.
- Power down and isolate equipment showing burning smells, smoke, arcing, liquid leakage, repeated protective-device operation, abnormal connector heat or physical damage.
- Do not open, modify, overclock, overvolt or repair equipment unless authorised and competent to do so.
Damage caused by an unsuitable installation, supply disturbance, overload, incorrect connection, poor ventilation, contamination, unauthorised modification or operation outside specification may be excluded from warranty cover. This does not remove a remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
3. Our Product-Supply Responsibilities
Customer responsibility for the premises does not replace The Mining Shop UK Limited's own duties when acting as a manufacturer, importer, distributor, repairer or other economic operator. For equipment we place or make available on the Great Britain market, we apply due care appropriate to our legal role and the product, including checking the availability of relevant conformity marking, identification, instructions and safety information before supply.
Depending on the product and transaction, applicable requirements may include the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016, electromagnetic-compatibility requirements, the Restriction of Hazardous Substances regime, product-safety law and producer-responsibility rules. CE or UKCA marking is evidence within the relevant conformity framework; it is not permission to ignore installation requirements or operate outside the rating plate.
We do not knowingly make equipment available where we consider it unsafe or materially non-conforming. Concerns may require additional evidence, quarantine, testing, correction, withdrawal, customer notification or recall. Used, repaired or refurbished equipment is assessed according to its condition, history, work performed and the legal requirements applicable to that supply.
Our workplace responsibilities
When equipment is handled, tested, repaired, stored or demonstrated at premises controlled by The Mining Shop UK Limited, we apply our own risk assessment, competent-person, isolation, fire, noise, manual-handling, training, maintenance and incident-reporting controls. Customer installation responsibility does not transfer these workplace duties. See our Health, Safety and Fire Policy.
4. Incidents, Corrective Action and End of Life
Stop using and safely isolate equipment if it may present an electrical, fire or other safety risk. In an emergency, protect people first and contact the emergency services. Then notify us promptly at [email protected] or on 01429 408034 with the model, serial number, invoice, location, symptoms and available photographs, video or logs. Do not re-energise the equipment until a competent person confirms it is safe.
We assess credible reports, preserve relevant records, cooperate with manufacturers and authorities where required, and communicate proportionate corrective action. A safety response may include troubleshooting, inspection, repair, replacement, withdrawal or recall. Customers must follow a safety or recall instruction promptly and must not resell, export or continue operating equipment identified as unsafe.
Electrical equipment must not be placed in general waste. Use our ASIC Miner Recycling service or another authorised route. Producer, distributor and take-back obligations depend on the product, supply chain and customer classification; any registration or compliance-scheme details are provided where applicable rather than implied by this notice.
This notice must be read with the Terms and Conditions, Warranty Policy, Refund and Returns Policy and manufacturer documentation. Nothing excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, an unsafe product for which we are legally responsible, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
