02 / The container

Inside the ANTSPACE HD5.

Capacity, compatibility and the details that matter when planning your installation.

Room for a larger hydro mining fleet

The Bitmain ANTSPACE HD5 hydro mining container is built around the needs of a commercial Bitcoin mining operation. It provides positions for up to 308 compatible ANTMINER hydro miners in a 40ft format, bringing the fleet into a defined space that can be planned into a new site or an existing mining farm.

Cooling capacity and miner compatibility

The HD5 works with an EC2 DT dry cooling tower rated at 1,500kW. BITMAIN lists the S19 Hyd., S21 Hyd. and S23 Hyd. families as compatible. The right number of machines depends on their individual power requirements and the conditions at your site, so 308 positions should not be treated as a guarantee that every miner model can run at full load in every position.

Planning your installation

The 1.5MW figure describes cooling capacity. The manufacturer separately lists normal container power of 1,512kW and maximum power of 1,765kW. Electrical supply, foundations, lifting access and cooling connections need to be assessed against the specification of the unit supplied.

Ask about the HD5 in stock

The Mining Shop has one new ANTSPACE HD5 in stock. Tell us which miners you plan to run and where the container will be installed. We can discuss the configuration, delivery arrangements and equipment schedule for your quotation.

03 / Power and cooling

Inside the infrastructure.

Distribution cabinets, PDU functions and the supporting equipment for ANTSPACE HD5.

Power distribution

The current HD5 sheet lists four 1200A main switches, four 700A rated feeds and 10A per miner position. Main switch ratings do not establish a usable miner load on their own: the circuit schedule, cables and supply conditions must also be checked.

Two cooling circuits

The January 2025 manual describes A and B liquid circuits with a shared control cabinet. Pump stations, valves, filtration and sensors circulate coolant through the miners and dry cooler. The two sides can operate separately.

Monitoring and servicing

The manual describes PLC control and a touchscreen for system readings and alarms. Confirm the supplied controller revision, remote monitoring options and miner outlet switching functions in the equipment schedule. Do not assume the MD5 smart PDU specification applies to the HD5.

Specification revisions and equipment confirmation

The January 2025 manual lists 1665kW maximum power and 17.2t operating weight; the current shop sheet lists 1765kW and 18t. Use the serial number specific drawings when designing the installation. Request the single line diagram, breaker schedule, PDU outlet model, cable list, cooling schematic and commissioning requirements for the unit supplied.

04 / Heat reuse

Put mining heat to work.

Potential applications for an engineered recovery system. Heating equipment is not included in the container price unless expressly quoted.

ANTSPACE HD5: what is supported?

The HD5 specification explicitly lists a DN100 plate heat exchanger interface. This makes an engineered secondary heating circuit a credible project option, but does not confirm that a heat recovery exchanger, heat pump or building controls are supplied. The dry cooler remains necessary when the heat user cannot accept the full load.

Miner cooling circuit→Separate heat exchanger→Heating loop or heat pump→Useful heat demand

Building and district heating

Nearby buildings or a heat network may accept recovered heat directly at suitable temperatures, or through a heat pump. MARA reports operating district heating projects in Finland; these demonstrate the application, not certification of this ANTSPACE model.

Greenhouses and growing spaces

A greenhouse with a suitable heating circuit is a potential heat user. GDA has researched the use of mining heat for greenhouse farming in Sweden. A project needs a seasonal heat demand calculation rather than a fixed area per container claim.

Pool and process water preheating

As a project concept, recovered heat could preheat pool or process water through an isolated secondary circuit. The usable temperature, exchanger materials, water treatment and backup heating must be designed for that application.

What a heat recovery design needs to establish

Confirm miner supply and return temperature limits, flow, pressure loss, fluid compatibility, heat exchanger duty, the receiving system temperature and year round demand. Add bypass controls and retain sufficient cooling for summer or loss of heat demand. A heat pump may be needed for a higher delivery temperature. The cooling rating is not guaranteed recoverable heat, and no heat sales or heating savings are included in the earnings below.

BITMAIN offers waste heat heating design services. Obtain approval for the exact container revision before modifying its circuit.

05 / Plan your installation

Get your site ready.

Share your miner list and site details with our team before confirming the container configuration.

Power supply

Confirm voltage, distribution and total site demand. Include the miners, cooling equipment and other electrical loads.

Cooling requirements

Check ambient conditions, the cooling circuit and any water or immersion fluid requirements for your chosen equipment.

Delivery and access

Plan vehicle access, unloading, foundations and service clearances. Agree the delivery scope before arranging installation.

Can every hydro miner use an HD5 position?

No. The current reference schedule lists 10 A per position. Match the exact miner PSU, connector and operating mode to that limit, as well as the total cooling duty. A physically compatible rack position is only one part of the selection.

How would the HD5 support useful heat?

The listed plate exchanger interface provides a starting point for a separate recovery circuit. A pool or greenhouse needs its own exchanger selection, controls and demand assessment. Keep the dry cooler available when the heat user is offline.

Before you order

Your questions.

Are miners included?

Confirm the supplied equipment list in your quotation. Do not assume ASIC miners, accessories or installation are included in the container price.

Will my miners fit this container?

Compatibility depends on the exact miner model, cooling method, electrical connections and configuration. Send us your proposed miner list for checking.

How are preorder dates confirmed?

Ask for the current allocation and expected dispatch window. The quoted lead time and delivery arrangements will be confirmed for your order.

Compare suitable ANTMINER families using current catalogue base values. Each card represents an alternative fleet of one model, not three fleets to combine.

These examples use the S19 Pro Hydro j0 10 family, whose manufacturer sheet specifies 10A per phase. Newer S21 Hydro variants with a 12A maximum input are excluded from these 10A position examples. Confirm the exact PSU, connectors, rack fit and coolant flow before placing a fleet order. These catalogue models are currently out of stock; the totals are planning comparisons, not an offer of immediate fleet availability. Manufacturer electrical specification

How quantities, prices and earnings are calculated

Planning quantity = the lower of the supported slot count and the whole number of miners within the chosen power budget, allowing 5% above each miner's catalogue wattage. This page uses 1412kW for ANTSPACE HD5. HD5 reserves 100kW from its 1512kW normal figure; HW5 uses the older 1062kW limit until its revision is confirmed; HW7 reserves 100kW below its 2000kW cooling rating; MD5 reserves 100kW within its 1000kW container figure. These are conservative screening assumptions, not commissioned or manufacturer approved fleet sizes.

Fleet price = current unit price × quantity. Fleet gross monthly earnings = the same per miner base earnings field used by the homepage card × quantity. Hashrate and miner power also scale with quantity; efficiency and earnings per kWh remain per unit ratios. A combined hardware total is shown only where a container price is available; otherwise the container is quoted separately. No bulk discount, electrical infrastructure, delivery adjustment, cooling electricity, downtime or heat income is assumed.

Gross earnings are estimates before electricity and operating costs. Final quantities also depend on ambient temperature, coolant flow, distribution across cabinets, PSU connectors and the approved rack layout. Check stock allocation and the complete quote before ordering. This section shows compatibility examples and does not claim a purchase history.
